I am an addict. I am not addicted to drugs, food or gambling. I am addicted to stuff! I have stuff, junk, piles, clutter - whatever you want to call it - everywhere ... places a neat-nick would never think to hide things. The best place was the spare bathtub; just close the shower door and no one knew there was anything there.

After years and years and years of collecting, sorting, accumulating and hiding, I realized that my cluttering was more than an annoying personality quirk. I had a serious problem. I was out of control!!! My clutter controlled me, I did not control it.

I suffered from CHAOS.... Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome as described by Marla Cilley, The Fly Lady. I was too embarrassed to have anyone over for fear they would discover my addiction. Something had to change.

It started with reading every "How to Get Organized" book I could get my hands on and applying the methods that were suggested. Although the organizational systems in the books worked for a while, I realized I couldn't conquer my addiction alone. It wasn't until I met and talked with other clutterers was I able to figure out WHY I cluttered. With their help I was able to take back control of my life and put order in my home.

Now I help other clutterers learn to "let go" and get control of their cluttering habits.
